The Fox Red Labrador Retriever

The Fox Red Labrador Retriever

This episode we have on, professional trainer, breeder and owner of Kyle’s puppy finishing school, Kyle Chaharyn to discuss his life long passion and dedication to Fox Red Labrador Retriever.

Early history shows that the Labrador Retriever, which was originally a black dog with white coloration, had been selectively breed over time to create the three solid color variations we have come to know today as the black, yellow and chocolate Labrador. However, the rarely seen color of the Fox Red variation has a deeper history many don’t know about.

Prairie ecology and forest management

Prairie ecology and forest management

Today we have on the show Matt Aldrovandi, area forester with the Tennessee division of forestry, to discuss Prairie ecology and good forest management practices to help us keep the beautiful terrain we enjoy seeing and a strong and healthy population of wild birds for our future.

In this episode we touch on which plant life we can cultivate to create a viable and healthy source for game birds and which plants to avoid that may be dangerous for our furry companions.

Remote Trainers Part 2

Remote Trainers Part 2

Of course, with every device I always say you don’t NEED them but they certainly can come in handy in an emergency and they certainly can make the specific processes of training easier.

Many people have their various collar conditioning methods, I’m sure you can do a quick search on the internet and find that there are literally thousands of results. and all of them are not unique in any way. They can absolutely be lumped in categories and always follow the same methods of pressure to do what is asked.

We had an overwhelming positive response to my previous episode, Stimulation Collars with guest Steve Snell, owner of Gun Dog Supply. However, there were a few concerns from listeners that simply need more clarification.

It's Q&A Time, December, 2021

It's Q&A Time, December, 2021

I really wanted to dedicate this episode to answering some questions from my listeners. I posted on the social media platforms asking if anyone had any questions or concerns that they would like me to address on this episode and the response was overwhelming.

I selected a few questions that I would like to address on todays episode. However, if you are listening and I didn’t have a chance to address your question today, please rest assure that I have reserved your messages and will be addressing your questions on a future episode. So stay tuned.

With that said, many of the questions and concerns that I received had a commonality. This is actually something you will hear me say every time. Even though every situation I read was unique in their own way, they seemed to fall into the category of confusion, on both sides (human and dog)

A Deeper Level of Understanding Your Dog

A Deeper Level of Understanding Your Dog

I know in my very first episode I talk about what anthropomorphism is but with many recent questions arising after the release of my new book, Through the Eyes of a Canine, I decided that this episode should dive deeper into the psychology of this topic and discuss how anthropomorphism has it’s advantages and disadvantages.

Dog Law in Norway

Dog Law in Norway

This episode strikes me deep in the soul. Featuring special guest, Artist, dog lover and dog life advocate Lise Ellingsen. We discuss the current state of Norway’s dog laws and the actions that are in progress to change them for the better. Norway holds a very personal meaning to me as my blood linage runs deep and distant. My family and I still to this day hold true to our traditions and celebrate our Norwegian culture. However, something was brought to my attention recently about how the dog laws have evolved in this beautiful country.

If you would like more information about this topic and to share your voice in support of the re-development of Norway’s Dog Laws or show support for the individuals whom are currently fighting for their furry family members life, please visit the links below:

Micromanagement Structure

Micromanagement Structure

Micromanaging your dog throughout the day is not only completely natural but absolutely necessary for your dogs understanding of structure. Implementing these practices can provide you with moments of relief throughout your already hectic day, as well as, help settle any anxiety your dog may have.

The consistency of the day will help you to find more time to do the things you want or ‘have to do’ such as work, schooling, or recreational activities with the family.
